Firstly I am very happy with how the film went. Seeing as we had no past experience with Final cut pro it was great to learn with Josh and it was a real learning curve because we are both used to other editing software's. We spread the work evenly, Josh did the filming and I did most of the editing which gave us a fair amount of work to do. We both motivated each other to do better with our work which has helped because we also got our work completed as soon as possible.
For our film we chose 4 different shots. Over shoulder shot, Long shot. Point of View and Close up. All these shots allowed us to show the full emotions the character expresses in the film. The use of the black and white gave the film a quite tense atmosphere making the viewer feel very involved in the film. It also made the college look a scary and dangerous place because it is dark so the audience cannot see the true colours of college and how good it actually is in real life. The use of music also gave the film a gloomy effect which makes the viewer feel concerned about what is going to happen to the poor character. Because we used transitions it makes the film flow a lot better and speeds up the film, this means the audience will stay interested to the end.
Pros of using a Camera Phone
Cons of using a Camera Phone
If we used a DSLR the film quality would be a lot better and more stable. Because a DSLR focuses better the film would be more smooth and flowing, for example on the watch scene of my film we have to wait for the watch to focus which can get irritating and boring. If we used a DSLR the time it takes to put the films from camera to Mac would of been significantly longer because they are better quality increasing the file size. This is also the same when we have to render the video, it would most likely take double the length it did to export our film.
