EVALUATION
I am extremely happy with the final outcome of the film. I believe that we did a good job seeing as we filmed it in less than two hours with different problems that occurred, including the bright sun light which came through the window every so often which effected the atmosphere dramatically. It was difficult to edit the footage down to 45 seconds because there were so many good clips that may have looked better if we could of made them longer, although I think the quick shots and movement from the characters made it quite tense. I like the camera template around the screen because it makes it look more realistic and it also emphasizes the fact he is filming it. I also like the Night Vision effect used when he is filming, but when there is the flashbacks it is red which symbolizes danger. One thing that I like is the credit roll. The text colour is the same colour as the red room in the flashback and I like how ithe text moves smoothly and fades away.
To improve it, I would improve on how long the shots are. I think that some of the shots could be smaller and the dialogue could be said quicker, meaning there is more time for dramatic scenes, like the final one. I also think that the use of close ups would be good because it shows there true emotions, which may make you feel involved. Another thing we could do is move the sound effects so that it builds up suspense, this gets the audience excited/scared. I would also improve the transition after the second shot so that it actually looks like a film has been fast forwarded. I could achieve this by using the current effect but maybe speeding it up with a template that shows a fast forward button.

Second edit
In the second edit the only major changes were music over the top and the title of the film in the credits. The use of the music built up a large amount of suspense and tension. After watching other films I noticed that they would put the title at the start of the credits. I found it worked well in our film because when the knife exits the victim it fades to the title of the film.
First edit
This was the first edit that we did. The use of the template around the film made it look like he was filming it himself and also more realistic. We used the night vision effect in the editing software to make the camera look more realistic but also to define clearly the flashbacks and the actual filming. For example when there are flashbacks the camera recording template is not there and there is no night vision. I felt that the use of the flash transition made it clear that it was a flashback because it is only used when the camera is on Georges face.
Schedule
Filming Schedule
Monday 18th – Planning and briefs, also we should have a rehearsal so when we film we cut back on the time we need and increase the amount of editing time we have.
Local risk assessment
Health and safety sheet
Equipment booking sheet
Tuesday 19th – 2nd rehearsal with permission of location so we are ready to film in the area we have chosen, by now we will have the production schedule to know when and what time we need each person in the set.
Wednesday 20th – Start to film first shots, when filming these shots we must log every shot we take. After each session of filming we have to write on our blog how it went and the things we will now do differently to make the filming go quicker and smoother.
The acts on set are Joe Read, Josh Allsworth and Dan Arkell, George Young will be filming.
Thursday 21st – Take final shots and use this extra time to take some extras so you have a variety to choose from when it comes to editing, making the film much tidier.
Monday 25th – Thursday 28th – We will have until the 28th to edit the shots and finish the sequence. When we have reached the ending of the shot taking Dan will be editing.

PRE PRODUCTION
Our assignment was to make a 45 second horror film. It has to evolve around a person that is tied to a chair in a room and a torturer. When the light turns off in the room something has to happen to the man tied up.
The idea:
Our idea is that a man is tied up in a dark toilet where the torturer walks in with the camera in his hand, like it is found footage. We learn that the man that is tied up was actually a man that used to abuse the torturer. So it is based on revenge. We have put a lot of thought into the script using dialogue that has two different meanings.
Roles:
Josh-Filmer/Director/ Location management.
Dan-Editor/ Call sheets.
George-Actor/Script.
Joe-Actor/Script/Prop list.
